Bio

I am a retired educator that loves exploring the outdoors with my Nikon. Got my first digital camera when I started teaching. Was 100% clueless about photography, but absolutely loved it!

My love for abstract images started with my interest in Art Lenses.  These are predominantly manual focus and have a fixed focal length.  Being able to use selective focus and blur parts of an image naturally led me to even more blur with intentional camera movement, also known as ICM.  This technique is an incredible tool to create art through your photography!

Once I delved into the world of ICM, I saw ICM images that were even more appealing to my abstract art mind and learned they were still ICM, but combined more than one ICM image with another.  There were SO many variations with this technique, I was even more interested.  Such a creative technique that knows no end to creating abstract art I am so compelled to create and explore.

I'm fortunate to live 5 minutes from The American River with amazing trails and nature all around.  My day starts with a walk along the river with my dogs and camera—no better start to a day!  Landscapes in nature are my preferred subject, especially a bonus with flowers.  Also love shooting flowers up close with a macro lens or adapter.  I simply enjoy creating art with my lenses and I continue to explore the world of ICM+ME to Paint With My Lens.
