One of the biggest burning questions that I get is, how do you know what colors to bring into your image?
How do you see the final image in your mind before you ever pick up the camera? Then how do you edit the image to convey the emotion of the story.
Trust me I’ve been there! I know how frustrating this can be, let me help you. I will teach you through my years of studying color, through art, design and photography. We will take a step back in time and study the Masters. You will even learn how to find your own personal color pallet. Each lesson of color will be explained through videos in Lightroom. We will spend four full weeks exploring color and how it’s connected to emotion. Learn to create black and white images through the study of color. And so much more!
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Let April guide you back in time and study the Masters and how they used colour to convey emotion. As she takes you through time you will see that even though art and colour has evolved, we can still use those same principles today. We will do this through the Art of Observation.
You will be able to create the contrast in your images that you have been longing for. Your black and whites will never fall flat again. The colours you feared or ran from in the past will now be embraced.
She will help you understand hue, saturation and luminosity through Lightroom sliders. These lessons can be used in any editing program. More importantly, you will see colour as harmony and power.
You will now understand your colour palette and why you are drawn to certain colour and vibrance.
You will not only see black and white, but all the shades of grey will be clear.
We will debunk many of the colour myths. Know that all colours hide in the shadows.
You will understand Split Toning, Colour Grading and Curves.
We bring this all together so you feel comfortable and confident that your images will have a balance through colour and storytelling.
